Hearing test pinpoints middle-ear problems in newborns (University of Alberta)

Researchers have found a way to identify middle-ear problems at an earlier age in babies, according to a study published in the Canadian Journal of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. The study used high-frequency tympanometry and found that this method was successful in identifying middle-ear disorders in very young infants who were in the neonatal intensive care unit. Meet David McFarland: The Next Editor of CJSLPA

SAC is pleased to announce that David H. McFarland, PhD, S-LP, ASHA Fellow has been appointed as the next Editor of the Canadian Journal of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (CJSLPA). Dr. McFarland is Full Professor in the school of speech-language pathology and audiology of the University of Montreal and Adjunct in the school of communication sciences and disorders of McGill University.
